Does Netherlands opt into EU Inc?

· informational

The Netherlands has a published signal: in May 2026 it co-signed the Benelux non-paper with Belgium and Luxembourg, welcoming the EU Inc proposal — and arguing it could have gone further towards a genuinely supranational framework — while demanding safeguards on KYC/AML controls, employee participation and the primacy of financial-sector legislation. Supportive but conditional; no binding Dutch vote exists until Council decides by qualified majority.

The standard domestic form is the BV (besloten vennootschap), and Dutch practitioners’ interest centres on how EU Inc would interact with existing cross-border structuring and holding practice. See what EU Inc is and the tracker.
