European Council endorses "One Europe, One Market", flags 28th regime as 2026 priority
Proposed text under negotiation. Nothing adopted — the file is in the ordinary legislative procedure.
At its 19–20 March 2026 meeting, the European Council endorsed the “One Europe, One Market” roadmap and named the 28th company-law regime — the proposal the Commission had published days earlier as EU Inc — a priority for 2026. Leaders called on the co-legislators, Parliament and Council, to adopt the file by the end of 2026. That end-2026 date is a political target, not a legal deadline: the proposal remains under the ordinary legislative procedure, and nothing has been adopted. See the tracker for the full timeline.
